Liturgical movement

Whenever “Spirit” (the word or the phrase) is mentioned in the Bible, it is always connected with some form of movement i.e. wind, fire, flowing or filling, and because we are moved by the Spirit in so many ways it is natural that movement and worship go hand in hand.

Some people are moved by a painting, or music, a poem, and even dance. Sometimes all of these forms are combined and used for worship, this is liturgical movement; a series of choreographed scenes, combining movement, words, and music to further enhance our worship visually.

We all respond differently to various forms of worship, and that is ok. We are truly blessed to worship together in such diverse ways here at John Knox Church.
