Pastor’s Note and Intro to Knox News:

It’s interesting how truth brings insight. When we’re true to where we’re at and what’s before us, though it might be painful, difficult or joyous, if we’re honest, we will usually discover what we’ve never known.

But to get there, we need to get real and be present.

We need to want to be as honest as possible about what's happening around us and within us. At times, we will need to linger with uncertainty and pause our premature and self-serving declarations. And that’s not easy. But until we’re willing to stay with the questions, embrace the uncertainty and welcome truth, we’re stuck in falsehood and can’t discover what we’ve never known.

Maybe that’s why we keep praying, studying, serving, showing up for worship and for one another. We are wanting to learn and grow and be about Adventuring with God into truth – truth that sets us all free.

It gets tiring listening to and living in lies. There is something in us that’s wired for truth and is brave enough to be honest. There is something in us that wants this family of faith to keep growing, learning, sharing, adventuring and discerning together God’s good and holy will.

We may not always know the way through the uncertainty.

We may not always know how tense situations will be resolved.

But we do know that Jesus is with us always, full of grace and truth. So maybe instead of getting lost in lies or hiding behind hollow declarations, we get real and be present before Jesus. Maybe instead of being our own guide and charting our own course, we let Jesus lead, teach, heal and save us all together. Maybe it’s time to fully trust the One who said, “I am the way, the truth and the life,” (John 14:6).
